It’s that time of year again for moon cake!  On Saturday, September 6, 2014, MVNCI was invited by the Miss Asian Global (MAG) organization to attend the 24th Annual AT&T Autumn Moon Festival in Chinatown San Francisco.  The festival transforms Grant Avenue into a street filled with lively entertainments such as arts & crafts, cultural exhibits, authentic food, and children’s activities.  It was originally held in 1991 to bring in more business to shops in Chinatown, and has since been held every year thereafter. August Community Service: Neighborhood Harvest Food Pantry

On Saturday morning, August 23, 2014, Christina, Mandy, Cindy, and I volunteered at the Neighborhood Harvest Food Pantry in San Francisco, located in the Inner Richmond district.  The event is hosted by the St. John’s Presbyterian Church every Saturday morning and it provides free groceries to neighborhood families/individuals in need.  They serve about 280 low-income families weekly, which constitutes about a total of 800 family members!  Upon arrival, we were all assigned stations to hand out food at among the line of different stations.  Christina and I were assigned to pears, Mandy to small cartons of orange juice, and Cindy to bags...

NAAAP SF Summer BBQ & Potluck

On Sunday, August 3, 2014, Crystal, Cindy, and I attended NAAAP SF’s Summer BBQ & Potluck on behalf of Jet Duong’s extended invitation to MVNCI.  Jet was one of our emcees during Pageant, as well as a member of the organization!  The organization’s acronym stands for the “National Association of Asian American Professionals – San Francisco” chapter.  They are dedicated to promoting leadership development, professional networking, and cultural awareness on behalf of the Asian community.  For more information about this organization, please click here. 2014 Miss Asian Global Pageant

On Saturday, August 2, 2014, MVNCI was invited to attend the 2014 Miss Asian Global (MAG) Pageant at the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.  Christina and I had the opportunity to come watch the pageant and support the girls competing this year.  We were invited to attend the VIP Cocktail Hours hosted beforehand as well, where we had the pleasure of mingling with other beauty queens and princesses, vendors, and other invited VIPs in attendance.  Not to mention, Jet Duong (one of our Pageant emcees) was there as a Martell Cognac representative.  Needless to say, a lot of pictures...

July Community Service: Brides Against Breast Cancer

  On Saturday, July 26, 2014, Christina, Crystal, Cindy, and I volunteered at the Brides Against Breast Cancer bridal show event in Emeryville.   It marks the 2nd year that MVNCI has volunteered for this event.  The 2013 Court had such a great time there last year that they recommended the event to us, and we were not disappointed!  Our main task was to help soon-to-be brides select and try on discounted designer wedding gowns.  The wedding gowns are able to be offered at incredible savings because they have been generously donated by designers, manufacturers, bridal shops, and individuals.  All...
