On Saturday, August 2, 2014, MVNCI was invited to attend the 2014 Miss Asian Global (MAG) Pageant at the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Christina and I had the opportunity to come watch the pageant and support the girls competing this year. We were invited to attend the VIP Cocktail Hours hosted beforehand as well, where we had the pleasure of mingling with other beauty queens and princesses, vendors, and other invited VIPs in attendance. Not to mention, Jet Duong (one of our Pageant emcees) was there as a Martell Cognac representative. Needless to say, a lot of pictures were taken during this time! We also had the opportunity to meet Maddie B, a talented singer who would be performing during the show later on, and she graciously signed an autograph card for us.

Minutes before the start of the show, we took our seats in the front row alongside the other visiting pageant representatives. As the program began, it was very exciting for us all to be personally introduced by emcee Crystal Lee, the 2013 Miss California/2014 Miss America 1st Runner-Up, at which we each stood up from our seats to wave hello to the audience! The cultural outfit segment was such a spectacular way to open up the show as the girls introduced themselves in their decorated ethnic costumes. Each girl looked absolutely beautiful on stage! I was both nervous and excited for them all as I know the feeling of competing during Pageant day all too well. From only having seen the contestants’ pictures posted online prior, it was very surreal to recognize and watch them in person as the competition advanced through to the evening dress, talent, swimsuit, and Q&A portions.

All of the girls did an amazing job that night!! We would like to extend our congratulations to the newly crowned court and we wish them all the best as they embark on their reign. And, last but not least, a big thank you to the MAG organization for having us there as guests!
