The Miss Vietnam Northern California Intercollegiate (MVNCI) Pageant is a community showcase of accomplished and polished female students vying to be the voice of the Vietnamese youth of Northern California. This scholarship pageant aims to celebrate today’s Vietnamese and Vietnamese-American women, and to encourage personal growth across of variety of attributes. Through an interview segment, a talent showcase, and a display of the traditional áo dài, the pageant is also an opportunity for these students from Northern Californian academic institutions to demonstrate their pride and understanding of Vietnamese culture. Intelligence, eloquence, composure, and strength; these are the qualities that MVNCI shall possess. As the voice of the Vietnamese youth, she will serve the community through specific community service events and will also make appearances as MVNCI as a testament of the potential of all Vietnamese youth. To be selected would be an affirmation of her achievement and ability as a young Vietnamese American woman.
Eligibility
In order to be qualified to apply, you must be:
- At least one-eighth Vietnamese
- Female at birth
- Between the ages of 18-26
- Single, never married, not currently pregnant, or already a parent
- Currently enrolled in, or graduated from (no earlier than Fall 2016) an accredited college or university
MVNCI recognizes that young Vietnamese-American women are extremely diverse and will come in all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and experience and will not judge a contestant solely on her physical attributes. We encourage all young women to apply for the MVNCI Pageant.
Contestants need to commit to all training events or workshops prior to pageant day. Additionally, contestants may be asked to participate in events around the greater San Francisco Bay Area, and attendance is expected of all contestants.

- Saturday, February 10, 2018 | 10am-4pm | San Jose
- Saturday, February 24, 2018 | 10am-4pm | San Jose
- Saturday, March 10, 2018 | 10am-4pm | San Jose
- Saturday, March 24, 2018 | 10am-4pm | San Jose
- Saturday, March 31, 2018 | 10am-8pm | Santa Clara
- Sunday, April 1, 2018 (Pageant date) | 8am-10pm | Santa Clara

Costs
Upon acceptance into the MVNCI Pageant, contestants are required to remit a $100.00 registration fee, which will be refunded to the contestants provided they complete the pageant in its entirety. You are also responsible for travel costs to and from San Francisco Bay Area, in addition to all garments and accessories required for your participation in MVNCI. A non-refundable $25.00 application fee is also required, paid when you submit your application.
Talent
The talent portion of MVNCI is optional, but all contestants are strongly encouraged to compete for the Miss Talent crown. Acceptance
When considering an applicant, we not only look at the appearance and vitality of an individual, but moreover, one’s values, intellect, and personality, as we strongly feel that MVNCI is a pageant that celebrates all of the positive attributes of today’s Vietnamese and Vietnamese-American women. The diversity of women who are part of MVNCI is what makes this pageant so successful, and we encourage and welcome a diverse range of experiences, interests, and backgrounds from our contestants in our pageant.
Titles
Contestants will be vying for a position as a finalist and of course, the crown of Miss Vietnam of Northern California Intercollegiate and a scholarship award. Other titles that are also given out are First Princess and Second Princess. In addition, MVNCI may include titles for Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic, Miss Entrepreneur, Miss People’s Choice, and/or Miss Talent.
