The 3rd Annual OMI / Excelsior Beacon Community and Family Resource Fair

The Annual Community & Family Resource Fair this year was held at James Denman Middle School on Saturday, April 6th in San Francisco. The OMI/Excelsior Beacon Center partnered with James Denman to organize this event to provide information from a variety of organizations and programs to local families.

MVNCI 2013 court was excited to be a part of this event. The staff were so kind and friendly. As volunteers, we helped families and local agencies check in, raise awareness about Hepatitis B at our table, provide families information about summer programs, and assisted with the carnival games. I got to help out with the carnival games along with Miss Social, Theresa Hoang. It was so much fun! With lots of smiles and laughter all around, we felt just like kids again.

The families also received raffle tickets to win prizes for visiting and learning information from at least ten agency tables. Also, the performances were enjoyable. We got to watch many talented singers and dancers, from hula to traditional Mexican dancers. There was even a rock band that performed for everybody that attended!
Overall, the 3rd Annual Community & Family Resource 2013 was so much fun!

MVNCI 2013 court would like to thank OMI/Excelsior Beacon Center and James Denman Middle School faculty & staff for letting us come out and volunteer and give back to their community!
