Giang Nguyen was born and raised in Vietnam. She graduated high school in Vietnam in 2007 and attended the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam for one year after that, majoring in Chinese. Since 2008, she has been living in San Jose, California.
From 2008 to 2011, she studied general education at Evergreen Valley College and was Vice President of Finance of the Student Government in the last year. As Vice President of Finance of the Student Government, she worked with the Student Account Clerk in managing students’ budget and was responsible for keeping track of all income and expenditures by the Associated Students Government. Also, she was working as a tutor, providing other students with academic assistance regarding subjects such as mathematics, economics and ESL at school and private settings in their own homes. Between 2008 and 2010, Giang volunteered for Phu Dong Youth Organization, helping organize events and activities for the Girl and Boy Scouts such as hiking, camping, museum visiting, cookies selling and various celebrations. During this period, Giang went back to Vietnam a couple of times, visiting her relatives and doing her internship in one of the four largest banks in Vietnam, the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank. As an intern, she was assigned to read multiple contracts, make notations on them, then reviewed changes and recommendations with management.
She is now 22 years old and a graduating senior Economics major at University of California, Davis. In her spare time, she likes to hang out and have fun with friends and family. Some of her interests are cultures, history, music, and sports, especially tennis. Her favorite tennis player is Roger Federer. After all, she is a curious and adventurous person whose desires are to discover new places and learn new things in life.
