Christie Nguyen is from San Jose, California. She is 21 years old and attends San Jose State University majoring in Nursing. Once she graduates, she wants to offer her services to the community, helping those in need.
Although she was born and raised in America, she believes in embracing her Vietnamese roots by staying close to her family and being a part of a student organization called Vietnamese Student Association on campus. As part of the organization, she was also able to learn more about her culture, along with sharing her experiences with others. During her involvement as member and former officer for the organization for several years, she has contributed her efforts in volunteering at community service events, as well as planning and creating fundraising events to raise money for different causes such as the Haiti Earthquake in 2010.
On her free time, Christie enjoys traveling to new places, experiencing different kinds of food, spending time with family and friends, and also doing makeup on others. She values her time spent with her loved ones and her ability to make others smile. To her, happiness is achieved when she is able to make a positive impact on the people around her and the greater community.
