NAAAP SF Summer BBQ & Potluck

On Sunday, August 3, 2014, Crystal, Cindy, and I attended NAAAP SF’s Summer BBQ & Potluck on behalf of Jet Duong’s extended invitation to MVNCI.  Jet was one of our emcees during Pageant, as well as a member of the organization!  The organization’s acronym stands for the “National Association of Asian American Professionals – San Francisco” chapter.  They are dedicated to promoting leadership development, professional networking, and cultural awareness on behalf of the Asian community.  For more information about this organization, please click here.

The event was held on a beautiful day at Coyote Point Park, located in San Mateo.  It was a chance for us to network with professionals in the Bay Area and to check out what NAAAP SF is all about. We got to meet new people over delicious BBQ served at the event.  I learned that since the organization has chapters nation-wide, members are always welcomed to attend events no matter what city they are in!  Later in the day, a magician entertained us by performing magic tricks and group/team games were held in the nearby grassy lawn.  The activity that I had the most fun participating in involved gathering in a mass group and blindly grabbing 2 other hands, after which we attempted to untangle ourselves without letting go; we had such a great time with it that we played it again shortly afterwards!  It was a fun-filled afternoon had by all.  We made some great contacts that day and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
