MVNCI Miss Social 2013

It seems like the first Meet and Greet was just yesterday, and here we are today, post-pageant and already reminiscing about this past weekend. The buzz and craze has yet to subside as I attempt to catch up on my personal life – school, work, and extra-curricular activities – and handle other stressful things like midterms and work deadlines. It’s back to the same daily routine things. Things definitely aren’t slowing down a single bit, but I think this is one of the beautiful things about MVNCI – it is an intercollegiate pageant. Although things might be hectic as of late, we’ve all juggled and balanced college life, school, work, extra-curriculars, etc. quite beautifully. I can’t help but smile at the thought of this and how we, staff and contestants alike, pulled together to put on such an amazing production.

While I am writing this, to take a moment to step back and soak everything in… Sunday night was just magical. It’s still hard for me to grasp that pageant is actually over! It still hasn’t sunk in yet – that I actually won Miss Social!! I keep thinking that this weekend will be another one of pageant practice and prep for the show. Everything has finally culminated and all the time, dedication, and work from both staff and contestants have paid off.

To be honest, Sunday was kind of a blur. The adrenaline rush from the moment we stepped on stage to our waves as the new 2013 Royal Court was like no other. Everything happened so quickly; it seemed like the show was over within a costume change and the blink of an eye. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every second of it. We all had so many laughs, nerves, and last minute scrambles, but the genuine love we had for each other was something I couldn’t have gotten or experienced any where else.

As a member of Royal Court, I hope to live up to this title and honor to the best of my abilities. I am proud to say that I have been privileged bond with 13 amazing individuals who, I am confident, will go on to do great things regardless if she went home with a crown or not. We are all winners. I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors and look forward to keeping in touch and maintaining this sisterhood we established over the past few months. I am honored and eager for this term with 2013 Royal Court. The journey has not ended; it has merely just begun…
